   Does anyone know what this noise is on my wife's 2006 X3 with 109k miles on it?
   
   This is not a video from my wife's X3, but the sound is the same.

   Sounds like a belt tensioner and the idler pulley bearing is making noise. To make sure its those use a long screw driver and place it on them and put you ear to the end of the screw driver and listen for the same noise you are hearing.
