Since picking this vehicle up a few weeks ago, the gauges (Temp, Speedo, Odo, and Fuel) have been dancing and/or just shutting down. There's no power loss, the main computer still operates and shows speed, DTE, etc...

The previous owner mentioned something about a module (Body Control Modul?), and that may be the culprit. I'm not sure where to look for this, and can't find the location on REAL OEM. There is a spot behind the driver seat in the C pillar that has some sort of small black box, but I cannot find any description about what it is.

Does this sound correct? Would the BCM control the instruments?

The general module is behind the glove box in bracket with other modules. Yes it can cause issues with some gauges. I have heard of this before but not sure I have ever heard of anyone knowing the proper fix. I would start by checking all instrument cluster connections and grounds make sure they are tight.
