    Rob -- just read your article in the CCA weekly. I would have laughed more but it hit too close to home! Your garage and methods sound a lot like mine. I am about to tackle a similar job--and more--on my 1971 2002 Alpina. I haven't done a job like this in over 30 years, since I did an engine transplant from my wrecked Bavaria to a 3.0S. Just getting motivated is the hardest part now.

    Mental notes and exhaust studs.... I was just about to go to the garage and finish installing the studs and rear portion of E28 m5 header... maybe I'll take a nap instead rather than acting out this week's column in the flesh. too close to home indeed!
