To any member in Austin/Round Rock area; would someone be willing to assist me in changing out the Vanos solenoids. I am throwing currently the exhaust code. I am not very mechanical in nature, but more than willing to learn. As the DIY videos shows, it is very easy, but I am not comfortable attempting it on my own. Let me know ASAP Thanks Steve Cell 512 202-1447
Hi Steve - you might have better luck getting in touch with someone local via your chapter website/social media - it's possible someone here is in your area, but starting locally is much more likely - https://www.facebook.com/groups/tejaschapter http://www.tejaschapter.org/officers.html Your chapter officers might be know someone in your area who could be of help - I got an error from the Tejas chapter website link for their message boards, you can see if you get the same. I've never tackled your project so I don't know how involved it is - besides info you find on the 'net, if you're going to be tackling some of your own maintenance, I've found Bentley manuals to be well worth the price. http://www.bentleypublishers.com/bmw/
Pull them both, clean them, switch their postions. Exhaust solenoid goes in the intake and vice versa. This will worked for me for almost a year. Cheers.
