No, it's not the weather keeping me out of the roadster, it's the time—or, rather, the lack of it. Reading back over my comments in this thread, I see that it's a chronic problem. So what I'm doing for the car today? Plugging in the Battery Tender so it will start when I take it out on Friday!
I just changed the cabin air filters on the M3, then found the same Mann filters $20 cheaper on Amazon than the ones I bought from ECS.... grrrrrr!
Replaced oil filter housing bushing and gasket on the M42. Sprayed down with simple green to clean off the gunk. Two trips to the hand held car wash and I still see more gunk on the timing chain cover. Cardboard under the car over night and there's still something dripping. Now I think it's down to just power steering fluid. Yet to clean the ICV.
Fixed power steering leak. Cheapest fix to date. After cleaning the bottom of the reservoir and hoses I saw a little seepage from one of the hoses at the reservoir. Looks like a slight tear at the hose clamp. Replaced the hose clamp and no more leak. So far. For the first time I have at least one car not leaking something.
I took mine to the body shop to get it appraised for having the rear bumper fixed after some moron from SC hit me and drove off while I was parked at a red light yesterday evening. Not happy.
Built a E46 M3 CSL using all OE parts and worked with enthusiasts to be the first US car that we know of with all working CSL parts including the intake flap.
I kinda sorta cleaned the wheels, after I swapped the wheels off the 335i. I had to clean THOSE wheels, of course—anybody who would stack filthy wheels would steal sheep—so since I was covered with brake dust and schmutz, I figured I might as well clean up the roadster wheels, too. But I didn't take them off the car; that would be WAY too anal. I just reach in and gashed my hands on the stone guard.
You wouldn't think that if you lived up here in the NW - we got over 5 feet of snow at the ski areas in the Cascades last week.
I know... but here in Norcalina we had our 6" of snow, then it was 70 degrees 3 days later. The trend is looking good that the cold is gone and Spring is here. I have a friend in Seattle and she hates my comments on the weather.
You two can clam it anytime now.. & here in SW Ohio, even though it's one snowstorm away from a record most-snow-ever winter, we can't complain compared to what Chicago's gotten, plus a whole bunch of other cities... spring is still at least a month away here - bring it on!
I'm leaving you a large collection of broken snow shovels in my will; there, don't say I never gave ya anything!
