Just bought a 2002 and am loving it!
Looking for a good honest mechanic in the NYC area/Long Island area. Any thoughts?

    Thanks

Welcome to the dark side!! It just gets worse from here!! :D

In some chapters, the 2002 owners are almost like a secret society...everybody knows they are out there but they can be hard to find. They will definitely be your best bet if you can track them down though. Check the chapter newsletter for any '02 related articles (and contact the author) or advertisers that specifically say they work on older models (not a lot of them around anymore either). If your local chapter has their own forum, you could ask the question there too.

You may also want to check one of the dedicated 2002 sites and ask there (like bmw2002faq.com).

If that doesn't produce something, just post back here again, I'll bet we can find somebody.
