840 Highbeam Headlight issue (1997 840 ci)

    Looking for a little information on where the Light Control Module is on an 8 series. My highbeams are intermittant at best, sometines the work sometimes they don't. I am trying to find the location of the LMC...HELP

    Assuming there's continuity from model to model (this is for a '95) - see page 570, or section 7000.0 (contents/bookmarks section, listed to the left), and the picture on page 624. I googled up some repair procedures for the E34 LKM (would have to re-find them, but if you dig, you should be able to as well) that involve re-soldering and/or replacing board components. Given the rarity of the car, I wouldn't necessarily expect Programa to have an LKM they could just ship out as a replacement, but presumably, Programa could test and repair yours, although you'd be limited to driving without headlights with no LKM in place until you got it back. You might be able to find a replacement on Ebay that's still working, but that wouldn't address the underlying weaknesses that seem to cause problems.

    Havent been on for a while bit the light issue ended up being a relay in the engine compartmenton the drivers side by the firewall.
