Hi, Recently bot used 2009 BMW 328X Drive and replaced the run flats......any idea where I might pick up a donut/bagel spare from a 2003-5 3 Series BMW? Local Connecticut junk yards are coming up empty and the Conti spare kit at BavAuto really isn't a significant improvement over a regular tire as far as size goes.I would sincerely appreciate any help or suggestions. Thanks,Bob
I know that bimmerzone has a compact spare, and the jack and wrench. I believe others (Tischer?) have kits, too. E46 vehicles all came with full-size spares, not compact ones.
I have the bimmerzone kit (bought it second-hand after ditching the run-flats). It does take up some room in the trunk but better safe than sorry IMO. I've attached some pics showing what the product looks like. If you decide to go for it, you will need to strap 'er down because every time you hit the gas or the brakes the thing slides back and forth in the trunk. For another few bucks, I bought an adjustable tie-down at Pep Boys. Well worth the nicer ride of not having RFTs!
