Can anyone tell me which pins to short out to reset the oil change indicator lights? I use to know how with my 528i, but have long since forgotten.

thanks for any advice and/or diagrams.

The 6's were out of production for some 5-6 years before on-board diagnostics came on the scene in the mid-90's. I don't know which pins to short for the reset, but I'd suggest a Peake Research reset tool - yes, it's a few bucks, but you don't risk damaging your ecu/electronics due to uncontrolled voltages from pin-shorting, or, worse, frying things by accidentally shorting the wrong pins.

The R5A/B is the least expensive option, the R5/FCX-3 is more expensive but also reads the diagnostic codes, and can reset check engine and other lights - comparison here:

If they aren't in the budget at the moment, perhaps someone will still pipe-in with which pins are the correct ones - if not, perhaps see what google comes up with.
