Finished the DICE install in the 540 by adding the microphone. What a well done product. Highly recommended!
I think the operative question for me might be "What DIDN"T I Do For my BMW Today"!! - Valve Cover gasket, bolt seals, oil filter gasket and seal kit, and VANOS oil line and seal rings replaced (oil leak to the tune of @ 1 qt. every 2 weeks) - Clutch Delay Valve is now GONE!! Can tell the difference in my shifting immediately... - Front stabilizer link (left side) replaced - Air intake boot replaced - Shot fan clutch and idler pulley replaced $hee$h!!! Thank god I have a really good Indy mechanic.
Ummm ... the E28 is a lot closer in both looks and character to an E30; not to mention mine's for sale right now - and I can deliver.
Thanks for reminding me: The brakes were a bit spongy at the autocross. . . time to get serious about flushing that fluid!
First track day of the season just around the corner. Time to replace rotors and pads and brake fluid. Snow tires off and Michelin SS back on...... One good thing about living up north is you look forward to that first track day more than you can imagine.
ti Cracked my diff cover. Evidently torquing to 52 ft lbs is only when dry. I don't think the drain plug was absolutely dry. Also flushed brake fluid, changed oil & filter. Replaced plugs. Reset SI LED. Mini Oil & filter. Plugs. Air filter. Reset SI indicator. E30 Needs brake fluid but was too annoyed to keep on working.
Replaced a turn-signal bulb. Oh, wait: The one I procured was THE WRONG BULB, but the one I took out started working after I put it back in. I still haven't taken Krud Kutter to the cone marks from the last autocross!
Those cone marks are the worst. I know what you mean. I got a clearbra installed this year so I don't have to worry about it anymore.
Well after cracking my M coupe diff cover last week, I now know how to replace a diff cover. I'm so glad that the part was still available. It took me a couple house with the help of a buddy and the internet. Did a couple test drives, no leaks. So far. Felt so good I flushed the 5 year old brake fluid out of E30 because the brakes have been feeling mushy. Next job for the E30 are rotors and brake pads. My rears are shot. And VIR, here I come.
Just the diff cover is out of the M coupe. Diff is from a 6 cylinder E30, lower control arms are from an M3. Gotta mix and match to make it right. I do love my little bobtail.
put the headers back on the E34 M5. and the engine mount. and the crossmember. and the exhaust system. Heatshields and plastic covers can wait until repairs prove leak-free.
Well, it was last week, but I did a Dinan stage two remap of the ECU on my 135i, giving her 356 hp and about 410 ftlbs of torque. And...I dumped the run flats for Michelin Super Sports. Not a bad days work, eh?
356 hp and 410 lbs with a simple remap.... that's amazingly easy. Wish I could get that on my E36 M3! Gong to be harder and harder to keep up on track day. Thank god I've still got a few hundred less lbs.
