i have an 09 335i with the performance package and short shift kit along with Dinan's stage 2 software. I have driven it for the last 16 months or so. Yesterday I drove an 08 M3 convertible and was greatly disappointed in the lack of torque it had. I recognize that the M3 is more about maintaining speed through curves than about reaching a desired speed quickly on a straight-away. I also realize that it only has 295 or so ft lbs of torque. Still, it's a massive engine. Plus the convertible is heavier. I just expected more of a fun factor. I think I will hold onto my 335 a bit longer before making the switch. The M3 sure is pretty though!
