Had my car into the dealer for oil change, they said I needed a brake fluid change at NO charge. So they said they changed the brake fluid. My question is does - does the dealer flush the brake fluid or just change the fluid in the master cylinder? I could find NO signs that the brake fluid was changed, at the calipers or at the master cylinder. Does anyone know how the dealer changes the brake fluid?
How does one know if they just reset the service interval How does one know if they just reset the service interval but didn't really change the brake fluid? There should be a video attached for all work done on your car....
You can't just change the fluid in the master cylinder; you have to bleed the brakes to change the brake fluid. The master cylinder is refilled during the bleeding process and topped up at the end. If it's done correctly, you can't tell by looking at the master cylinder or at the wheels. If you do see brake fluid on engine or suspension parts, go to another dealer or shop.
