Getting my 09 e90 w/sport package ready for track days in June. Original summer run flats are about done. Looking for advice on the best tires for combined track/summer street use.

Also considering changing wheels to get rid of the stagger. I get nothing but understeer at the track as is. Has anyone done this and liked the results?

Current tires are Bridgestone Potenza RE050A, 225/40-18 front and 255/35-18 rear.

The Max Performance category of street tires is a good compromise for primarily street use with some track activity. The Extreme category of tires is more track oriented and less streetable. The Conti DWs have produced excellent results. The new Michelin Super Sports may be as good as the DWs but are priced higher. Staggered does induce more understeer than non-staggered.

If you want the "best" street tire for the track, you're basically looking at just a few tires like the Dunlop Star Spec, Yokohama AD-08, Bridgestone RE-11, etc.

Use something like TRMotorsport MT1 wheels, 9"x18" all around, with 255/35-18 all around.

Of course these aren't runflats, so you'll need to prepare for a potential flat in some fashion.
