One headlight on my 02 540 will not adjust. The dealer indicates that the plastic adjuster components get brittle with age and break. BMW's solution is to replace the entire assembly ($$$$ OUCH $$$$). My service tech pointed me to www.odometergears.com who offer replacement adjusters at $85/side. The replacement instructions are pretty involved (must use an oven or heat gun to remove the lens covers). Anyone out there had any experience with these? Any input is welcome!
It isn't that hard to do. I would definitely get the odo gears set. Jeff Caplan is a great guy who really does a lot for the BMW community.
