This may seem like a dumb question - but where exactly do you add oil to a 550i?? My iDrive tells me to add a quart and I just want to make sure I put it in the right spot... Thanks
There are two large openings in the dash directly beneath the iDrive screen. Pour it in either one. OK, kidding aside, the filler looks to be at the front of the right cylinder bank (left side as you face the engine). There should be an oil-can graphic and (usually) "BMW recommends Castrol" on the cap.
Thanks already tried pouring it in the iDrive... Thanks - That's what I thought but when you look under the hood it isn't as clear as it is on older cars.
Check your dipstick first. Your car has one. Do not trust what i-drive tells you. You may be adding oil when you don't need to.
