Wheel bearings

    What should be an average cost to replace both rear wheel bearings on an 03 sport wagon??? Independent shop, not dealer.

    I now know the cost. $754.35 The car was in the bay from 8.30am until 4.30 pm yesterday.

    I haven't changed mine and kind of hope I never have to lol. I have heard without all the proper pullers it is a very big PITA job. The price doesn't really surprise me.

    Did you have to replace both sides? Wheel bearings aren't a maintenance item; replace them as they go bad, so if only one needs replacing, the other need not be done.

    I replaced both sides. there was noise from both rear wheels.That was why the price was what it was. Back to sounding like new again.
