My X3 (normal sus)bought as a new car in 1994 is now with about 27,000miles. I changed tires to Michelin pilot sport'(235/50R18Z and 255/40R18Z) at around 15,000miles (based on advice from TECH TALK)to get better ride quality. I am satisfied with it. Though I do not need to replace those with a set of new tires for the time being, I am considering a new set sometime before end of this year. I heard Michelin Pilot sport tires I have now are no longer in production, please give me some adivice what my choice would be next. Masaaki Takeda
Bridgestone's next generation tires are supposed to be quite nice, and a good replacement for the PS2's (although I hadn't heard that they're no longer in production..if they aren't, I can only imagine that means they're making a better version of them, as well).
X-3 tires Masaaki, I also have a 2004 X-3 2.5i, our car has about 55,000 miles. The original Bridgestones lasted about 32,000 miles, still had some miles left but the noise and vibrations became to annoying to bear. Costco had a great deal on Michelin Primacy MXV's, I purchased them and have not regretted that decision. The tires are quiet and are wearing very well. The traction is as good as if not better then the old Bridgestones, which by the way, I would never consider again. I also bought Michelins for our 07 530i with a sport pkg and have the same positive feelings. By the way , I always enjoyed reading your many posts. Good luck, Norm...
