Can anyone ID this part?

    Hi,

It appears my daughter tangled with a curb and while there are a few plastic bits missing from inside the front wheel well, the thing that has more of my attention is this part that was dangling down inside the wheel well.

Can anyone help me ID this? You might have to use a little imagination as it appears that it was broken off and is not intact in the photo.

    Thanks,

    Phil

On an E36 that might be a temp sensor.

My sources at our local dealership say either temp sensor for windshield washer heater or ambient temperature sensor.

    Hi,

Thanks everyone. No idea if the sensor is damaged as the core of it looks intact so I'll do some more poking around, but likely zip tie it to something and just keep an eye on things.

    Best,
