I have a 2000 528i and the 7.5 amp fuse for the central locking system keeps blowing. Can someone please tell me what could cause this?
    Thanks

I had a similiar problem with my 98 M3. Problem was traced to a pinched wire in the driver side door.

    Good luck,

    Check fuel door lock actuator.

On the E39 5ers that issue is usually caused by the the fuel door lock actuator. The way to test is to lock the car, if the fuel door lock actuator does not lock or is intermittant then the lock actuator is bad. There are a couple of other things that can cause this but this is the most common.

the fuel door is most commonly the source of the blown fuse, it is easy to check just remove the access panel in the trunk and unplug the fuel door motor than replace the fuse if the fuse doesn't blow than you can either leave the motor unplugged or replace the fuel door lock motor.
