Do you guys have any tricks or tips to reinstalling these half shafts (rear axle). I am having a time getting one the of these back on. I can only seem to get in going part way thru the hub
    . Any help is appreciated.

There is a special tool that you thread onto the shaft and pull it through. In the absence of that tool, you will need to find a way to gently tap that sucker back in. Be careful not to deform the metal part of the boot or it will weep grease. Did you just replace the bearing? You might be able to get a little more clearance if you toss that bad boy in the deep freeze for a couple of hours before trying to get it in.

Do you have the BMW part number for this tool?

33 2 110 is the special tool, quite pricey.

It pushes on the hub while pulling on the half shaft to keep it all together as it is coming through.
