GMC's OktoberFAST Event will be held again this year! If you enjoy crisp fall days in Stowe VT, wandering around a Craft Fair over Columbus Day weekend, leaf peeping, and great German autos this event is for you. Although the details are still being determined, I'm sure there will be some drives, a show and shine, and maybe even a tech session involved. Stay tuned for details. Note: GMC OktoberFAST held at Stowe VT is a Regional Event
Thanks for getting this thread started Scott, Thanks for starting a new thread for our event. Going forward, we will be able to update the forum with information relating to the event. As of yet, we are searching for sponsors, speakers, drive routes, etc. and when the board gets together next, we will be able to start formulating the grand plan. Thompson is busy creating all the art work we will need and meetings are taking place as we speak, to plan out the weekend. It promises to be an incredible weekend, as we have a lot of support from the board and the membership, and this event is to be the highlight of the our "summer" driving season. Stowe, Vermont, is one of the most scenic places on earth, and we are glad as Vermonters, to have the opportunity to create an event there. We are partnering with one of the best New England Craft Shows, which happens to be in Stowe that weekend. In fact, we are planning on sharing the field with them, so that OctoberFAST attendees and Craft Fair attendees can easily partake of each others wares! http://www.craftproducers.com/festival-details.php?id=31 We are inviting German cars from all the local clubs, and the foliage in Stowe is a sight to be seen. More to come! Larry

BMW Isetta at the Green Mountain Chapter BMW CCA OktoberFAST 2006 in Stowe, VT About OktoberFAST OktoberFAST is a celebration of German Cars hosted by the Green Mountain Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America. It is a fun-filled weekend for German car enthusiasts and their families. The wonderful roads and the Green Mountains of Vermont, in peak foliage colors, will set the scene for German car fans to drive and show their cars and to meet and interact with fellow German automobile aficionados. The event is open to all German marques new, old, stock or highly modified of Audi, BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Volkswagen, Mini and BMW Motorcycles. Past OktoberFAST events have included several choices for some incredible back road drives, a "fun rally," a show and shine, an autocross run by the SCCV, (Sports Car Club of Vermont) a tech session with Mike Miller, and several social events. Our inaugural event, SOMMERFAST '05, was small with just 75 cars attending, OktoberFAST in 2006 grew to over 130 cars and 2007 provided much the same. All events were a resounding success and we see no reason why 2009 will be any different. The Green Mountain Chapter BMW CCA is committed to hosting an exciting and memorable event dedicated to the German car fanatic and hope to grow this event into the largest gathering of German cars in the Northeast.
Can't wait! Reservations are made and the plans are laid! TeamStowell will be attending. As an aside, the hotel rates are very affordable compared to years past. We are looking forward to getting up into that crisp mountain air!
