Bulb Warning lamp, resistance sensitivity

My 2007 E92 Coupe was showing intermittent bulb warnings, which I finally determined was one of the 16w brake lights (the one in the fender). It was working, but the bulb had a "shadow" whereas new ones are perfectly clear. I measured the resistance at about 1.9 ohms, and a new one measures about 1.6 ohms (assuming I can read the meter). I swapped the bulb. Is a resistance difference that small sufficient to make the system think it was seeing a bulb failure?

Many prior BMW models are known for being overly sensative in measuring bulb circuit tolerances - so the answer is "yes", even though I can't say that I've checked this particuar model.
