'99 528i with 104,000 mi. -- This light comes on for 3-10 days, disappears for a couple of weeks, and then comes back...about 5 times in the last 4 months. I've had the fuel line flushed; I replaced the spark plugs. I've used BAV's SR-300 and no OBD codes come up, and I can't reset the light with the fault code tool. My instrument cluster doesn't have a right reset button. I'm beginning to think it's an electrical fault, but don't know where to start...appreciate ANY help.

You need to take it to someone with a REAL BMW scan tool (GT1, Autologic, or at least the Snap-On MT2500 or equivalent) while the light is on if you want to have an explanation of what is going on. Otherwise you will be taking shots in the dark at the problem.

    SR-300 code reader/reset tool

Thanxs...sending SR-300 back to BAV...they said they'd check it out, and if malfunctioning will replace, and if seems OK will refund my CC.
