If my tires suffered feathering due to improper alignment, will the tires wear themselves back to true after re-alignment as long as you stay under the vibration speed (65 mph)? That's what appears to be happening since I had my E46 realigned 1300 miles ago. Thanks, Bob
Bob, I would say that it depends on what aspect of your alignment was "out" and where on the tire it's feathering. If the wear seems to be evening-out now that the poor alignment was corrected, I say "ride it out". If you start getting bad tire noise or any other strange wear characteristics, you may want to replace them sooner than later. Hope that helps, Tim
I'll second what Tim says. It is not a critical issue, unless you are neurotic and have money to burn (~; Just keep inflation normal and watch for noise, or noticeable handling problems. Elliot
Thanks, guys. Think I'll ride it out for awhile. Seems to be getting better. Keeps me from getting tickets too while the NJ State Troopers do a mass ticketing campaign in the wake of state budget cuts! Best, Bob
