I got my wife a E36 M3 ( 3.2L 6-cyl Engine code S52 B32 ) and we have had it about 2 months now and well I have Decided that it would be in my/ the cars best intrest to do a full fluid change on everything. I would like to know what the fluid quanitys are to ensure I have enough before I start. heres what I got thus far: Oil: 10w-40 full syn 6.9 quarts Brake fluid/ Clutch fluid: ATE Superblue DOT 4 about 1 liter Tranny (5 Speed) ATF full syn 2 quarts? Rear Diff: 75w-90 or 75w-140 2 quarts Power steering: ATF? Thanks for the input Also I know its going to pop up at sometime but I will be using AMSOIL and and very product loyal, but feel free to chime in after all it is america and we all entitled to our own personal thoughts and views on stuff, although sometimes I think peeps need to keep their mouths shut, me being one of them
You are OK with 2 qts for the tranny. The capacity it a bit more than 1 qt. You can't go wrong with Amsoil although everyone has their favorites. I like BG SynchroShift II but just ordered some Red Line since I also needed to order brake and diff fluids. I wanted to order from one place. Whatever you do, cross drilled blinker fluid is over rated and unless you are racing, not worth the money. just to make sure you know this.... BMWs are built in Germany, and well....... actually even US cars are totally designed and built in METRIC! there is no capacity that is in quarts... any information that is native to BMW will be in Litres. other than that, be careful of the diff oil the additives are important.
I got it all done, with the exception of the coolant I think Im going to have someone do that, I got the additive for the diff, and well It was all really easy, I got alot of extra fluid now. Better to have to much than to liitle.
