Steve DiGiovanni wrote about his 525it. The ABS light comes on because the power transistor in the control box for the ABS system goes bad. It's the box on the drivers side engine compartment with all the tubes coming out. It fails when it gets hot so put a bag of ice on the box and drive around to confirm this - it should stay off. The transistor is a cheap repair but you can send it to CA for the fix if you can't do it yourself. Car will work fine without the assembly in the box - just no ABS Fred Callender, Sonora chapter
