Just purchased a 1996 850Ci with the "M73" engine and NO SERVICE RECORDS!. 144K miles. $10 grand. Does have it's manuals. Car starts but previous owner didn't consider it safe to drive since it had not been driven for many months. Oh, and the paint is completely gone from having sat in the New Mexico desert for who knows how long. The good news is that I will be placing this car in the capable hands of the guys at CJ Foreign Car in Silver Spring, MD which is less than 2 miles from my residence. When I called them to make sure that they would be willing/able to service it, I learned that one of the owners has just acquired a similar car, which he described as a "barn find". Looking forward to an extended relationship. I'll report back on how things go.
