The time has come after loosing my 2002 525T after 235,000 miles. Since there are no more wagons, I am looking at the X3. I don't need 4 wheel drive, would love a normally aspirated 6 cylinder. My sense is these new 2.0 L turbo 4's are tuned and squeezed to the limit for gas mileage and emissions and longevity is not in the cards- or am I wrong? Anyone have a high mileage 4 cylinder with no problems? How about walnut blasting the intakes? Or timing chains? Or should I bail from BMW? I still want a rear wheel drive which limits my choices. Or go big with an X5? What to do.......
