My 1982 / 633CSI has an aftermarket muffler that I would like to replace with an OEM type muffler that sounds similar to the 635CSI/M6. Many of the OEM mufflers I find online state that it's not a fitment to my specific car, but how different is the undercarriage from one E24 to the other? I have attached photos of the current installation. Any advice on finding the correct muffler is appreciated. Alan
I just wanted to provide an update in case there are any others who are looking to do similar project to bringing the exhaust back to stock condition. I was able to find the stock exhaust system, shipped in from Germany. The other smaller parts, gaskets, bolts, hangers and exhaust tips I purchased online. The exhaust note is great, just what a BMW should sound like. I have attached photos. AE
