I am replacing the white gear in the passenger seat recliner transmission box of my 1996 328IC.

The shaft where the new gear goes has a black plastic piece that fits on the shaft and a cap that is larger than the opening in the center of the gear.

My question is how do I fit the new gear onto the shaft.

    Thanks for your help.

Use a small socket wrench socket that matches the size of the gear and tap it on gently. It is supposed to be snug
