Hi everyone - I am replacing the starter motor. Can't afford to take it to a pro shop. I am stuck on removing the air intake manifold. There is an insulated hose way at the back of the intake manifold, impossible to see. The otherwise excellent Bentley manual does not show it. The fastener is impossible to remove by hand, and I have no idea what fastener type it is. Does anyone know? Do I need a special tool for this? Do I disconnect it at the back of the intake manifold, or somewhere else? I have on order a telescoping lighted mirror, I hope that helps. In the mean time, I figured I'd check the collective knowledge and wisdom here! Thanks all for any help.
The vent hose that goes from the cyclone separator to the valve cover can be a pain to remove. I normally will take this off the valve cover side and leave it connected to the cyclone side. The hose has a black ring around it will ridges on both sides. The ridges are where you are suppose to use your fingers to squeeze and release the two securing clips. Of course your fingers cant fit there. I would use a small pick to release both of clips normally with 1 at a time while gently pulling on the house to keep it from reconnecting. Also you will need to do the same for the drain hose off the cyclone at the bottom. Your finger will fit fine on that one though.
