I've downloaded the software update for my 2009 Z4 3.0i, I have the USB port in the glove box, but there is no software update option anywhere in the iDrive menu. Does anyone have any ideas how to go about installing the update?
If you have downloaded the file from bmw.com/update using your vin. If you vehicle has the option go to settings in the drive and at the bottom should be software update. Click that then plug the usb with the files into the usb slot. Then click update once the files are found by the car. Should take 2 mins then the vehicles headunit will reset and will be updated.
Yes, that is how it works in my 328i xDrive. My problem is there is no Software Update option anywhere in the iDrive menu on my Z4.
If the option in not in the settings menu then the vehicle does not have that option to update that software.
