There's no driver's school; there is the usual auto-x though.

Wow - no track....how is that possible? What a disappointment. I was looking forward to this O'Fest - but its not worth the trip without any HPDE. I'm quite surprised the decision was made to ditch it.

    Thanks for the news.

Road Atlanta required a 4-day minimum to rent the track for the week following Petit.

Autocross and Michelin should be at the Michelin Proving Grounds in Laurens.
Gymkhana - depends on the type of gymkhana.

Mel, wanna get Roger Johnson from Houston to design a course? He's pretty good at it. :)

Thus will be our first Oktoberfest, I've already registered/payed to participate in the AutoX and the car control. My Autox time is 8:00-11:30 do we have to be at the facility at 8 or can we just be there between those times in order to run ?

You are currently waitlisted for car control. Generally autocross is a full day event.

You can't show up at anytime.
Names are uploaded into the timing software in different heats.

    I don't have a schedule yet.

blu430i, so you can understand why an autocross is not a "just show up whenever" type of event, here are some components of the event that have to be done in groups/blocks:

    1) Vehicle tech inspection
    2) Course walk
    3) Driver's meeting
    4) Work assignments

Participants will be put into designated run & work groups so that the participant level is even throughout the day and so there are an appropriate number of workers for each block of the event to be run safely (and to run in the first place). If participants were able to come and go as they please, the event would be unworkable.

I have done a few AutoX events before so I know how they "typically " work. The only reason for my question is because they can all be different so thank you for the info on this one ! Also I do have my own helmet should bring it because I have participated in a couple of events where they were not required.

Someone else should be able to confirm, I'd expect though it's helmets required.

There are loaner helmets, but I'd bring one.
