    Hi,

I'm a longtime owner of modern BMW's, but I just finished restoration of my 68 1600 and I thought I'd share it with the group. It was a very solid New Mexico car to start with very little rust. We took it down to bare metal, and repainted it in original Chamonix and Marine Blue interior. I put in a motor with an S14 crank and a 293 Shrick cam, with twin DCOE40 carbs. Also relocated the battery to the trunk, added a 5 speed, a LSD an IE exhaust and electric fan. Inside I had a Becker radio restored for sound. Overall about 3 years of work but its a great driver now. If the link worked there should be a photo,
I'm looking forward to meeting more of the Albuquerque BMW folks.
