I have a 2003 530i that makes a low pitched whistling noise when I hit speeds of 80 to 85 MPH. I cannot figure out where it is coming from except that it is the front of the car in what seems to be the dash area. Has anyone had this problem or know where the noise is possibly coming from? Thanks!
I noticed a whistling noise at around the same speeds some time ago in my 2006 330xi, and I finally figured out that it was coming from the passenger's side mirror. I pushed the painted mirror bubble housing to more firmly connect to the black plastic piece that surrounds the actual mirror. That did the trick. There's still a small intentional-looking gap, but at least the whistle is not there anymore. Hope this solves it for you. Rick
