Well heck, and I thought the only in thing in Delongona was that silly outlet mall. You mean I could have been tearing up tire instead of shopping for shoes. North Georgia is an awesome place to adventure, I agree, and really, even if you're not up for high speed tight corner maneuvers (perhaps a motion sickness type spouse is in the car as well) you might check out the roads out through Helen and to Blue Ridge. And for the kids, I've heard you can mine for gold. I know our biker gang goes down around those parts, maybe we'll clash sometime and have a old school biker gang rally. Hells Angels ain't got squat on us!
Well, anyone in the area is welcome to join us. Drop me a note and when I know the specifics I'll let you know what time to meet us at Deal's Gap.
Good to know. I'll probably skip Georgia on this trip, but will try and make it in the future - thanks for the recommendation.
I'm not sure what I'm more jealous about, that your car is shinier than mine, that you get to go adventuring whilst I work or that those hanging baskets on your neighbors front porch are nicer than mine too. Best of travels to you!
Thanks! That's so funny that you noticed the hanging baskets! Our neighborhood has some nice baskets on the fronts of the houses... they are nice to see. Well, time to start packing. On my drive home from work the car told me that it was 104F... looks like I'm in for a toasty drive! Hopefully I'll have some fun photos and video to post when I get home.
The problem with the Dragon is that every once in a while you will encounter the helmsman of a Harley-Davidson, on which there should be a bounty. @#$%! yuppie scum Hell's Accountants. Now, riders are a different story....
Well, I'm home now and this weekend has taught me an intense dislike of pick-up drivers and motorcyclists. Pick-up drivers are in no hurry to get anywhere soon and I struggled to find a motorcyclist that had any clue on how to ride their bikes. I drove the TOTD Sunday evening and had motorcycle problems in each direction - anyone that thinks that 25mph on that road is acceptable has some issue. I don't think I used my brakes for most of the drive back and these idiots have obviously yet to learn to yield to faster vehicles. Grrr! Well, At some point I'll dig through photos and videos to see if I got anything of value. I was most disappointed that the TOTD photographers were not out when I drove through a little after 8am this morning Hopefully, the photos from yesterday evening are decent.
We actually did a fair amount of the Parkway last weekend on the R 90/6 to try and escape the ridiculous heat. Success. Although, when I got back there was a pouting red car in the garage.
