has anybody had any issues with replacing the bosh spark plugs with the commercial ones at say auto zone. Mike Miller has recommended against this and prefers buying them from the dealer. he said you could get miss fires as well as engine codes. my car is a 2004 530i with the m54

autozone sells bosch and ngk, which plugs are you referring to? if they match the ones that are recommended or designed for the motor, then it doesnt matter where they are from. if you cant find them locally, consider patronizing an online store like pelican parts or autohaus az, or one of the many other online parts distributors.

    Do they come pre-gapped?
I haven't needed to buy plugs in awhile but I am due soon.

all these fancy new plugs are pre-gapped, not like the good old days with my E30!
