Hello, We are new our 2011 328 conv has been in our family about six months.
    Our first BMW ever.
My wife just noticed that the fuel filler indicator on the dash, is pointing
to the incorrect (left side). I said that it is because of the hardtop.

    What is the real reason?

    Bewildered.

    Thanks, AL

I have a 2010 328i convertible, and unless I'm in severe need of glasses, i can say my dash has no fuel filler location indicator on the dash...

Maybe the 2011 dash is slightly different.

    Beats me...

    Is this it?
I thought all BMWs had the gas filler on the right?

Is it possible the arrow pops up at the icon when the fuel gets low? Or when the fuel filler cap is open?

I believe you will find that little icon on the display to indicate the "distance to empty" or cruising range left before needing to refuel.

If its like the icon in the picture a couple of postings back, I think that would be the explanation.

I always thought the arrow pointed to the side of the car where the fuel door was.

^^^ i agree, what else would be the point of having an arrow?
