Hey everyone! I've been meaning to Join BMW CCA for a few years now, but never remembered to do it. I'm not sure what jogged my memory, but I'm finally a member. Anyway, to the car. I have a Jet Black '05 330Xi 6 speed, purchased as a CPO in early '08 with just over 13k on the clock. It was my first BMW, and I can't see myself ever going back to anything else. I'm currently eyeing up an F30 335i(435i?) coupe, which I'd like to pick up via ED. I'm a 25 year old Pittsburgh area native, currently working as a Senior Systems Administrator for a mid-sized US manufacturing company. Two questions: 1. Is Roundel also published as a mailed magazine, or just an e-book? 2. I signed up online, and can't seem to find the signup for "Friends of BMW", as I'd like to get myself listed, and it wasn't available in the initial signup process. Where do I have myself listed?
It is published monthly. Normally you would receive it the 1st or 2nd week of the month. You joined on 3/7 which is too late for the March issue. Your 1st issue will be April. You can call the National Office to add yourself to Friends of BMW. You will receive the next one when it's published. You can purchase the last one at $5.00 by calling the National office. Personally, Friends of BMW made sense before cellphones and Roadside Assist. Welcome.
And you can get the March issue by ordering it from the National Office, I think, for, like, four bucks or so. It's worth it just for the cover!
I suggest looking through the March issue, it was especially good. I know Satch will get crap because Mike Miller's section was pretty short, but the rest of the issue was fantastic. Satch penned a great tribute to a recently lost member in his piece.
Thanks for the kind words. Tech Talk is our buffer; when last-minute ads and such need space, we squeeze it a little. When we wind up with extra room, it grows a little. It's usually the primary content on at least four pages.
