Would anyone, e.g. the BMW CCA Executive Director, please answer these questions about the Premier Membership Roadside Assistance service provider, Nation Safe Drivers (NSD)? 1. At <http://bmwcca.org/index.php?pageid=pm-info-more>, under the heading "Emergency Roadside Assistance," the statement "Rated #1 by J.D Power & Associates" appears. Searching J.D. Power's website <http://www.jdpower.com/> in several ways, I could find no mention of any such rating. Is the BMW CCA's statement true? If so, then how can it be confirmed? 2. I found statements of NSD's Terms and Conditions at several places at the BMW CCA's website, including various forums, and also at NSD's website. These various statements appear to have been posted at different dates, and they differ in detail. At least one of these statements included the vague limitation, "Not available in all states." I could not find a list of states in which NSD's service was, or was not, available. Nor could I find any statement that NSD's service is now available in all states. Where _is_ NSD's service available? Also, how many tow- or flatbed-truck operators are available in each state? 3. In my BMW owner's manual it is stated that the car should be transported on a flatbed truck, not towed with its wheels on the road; and, that if it must be towed, then its drive shaft must be disconnected. In NSD's Terms and Conditions it is stated that drive-shaft disconnection is not included in the service provided under the BMW CCA agreement. Will a flatbed truck be provided under the BMW CCA agreement? Thank you. Chuck (BMW CCA regular member since 1984, considering upgrading to Premier M'ship)
#1 - still looking. May update. #2 - This what you're looking for? http://www.nationsafedrivers.com/Product_List_by_State_02_2011.pdf #3 - I think this is a given everywhere. If there is any doubt, simply refuse to accept anything but a tiltbed tow. FWIW, I just decided to upgrade. We'll see how that goes.
Thank you for searching and finding that URL. The words "Roadside Assistance" occur in the heading of the last column of the table at that URL, viz., "RV Tech Support w/ 24-Hour Roadside Assistance." However, the products/services listed here do not appear to relate to the BMW CCA or any similar automobile-club roadside-assistance plan. "24-Hour Roadside Assistance / Motor Club Services" are addressed at another URL, namely <http://www.nationsafedrivers.com/roadside/>. Near the bottom of the latter page it is stated, "All products ARE NOT AVAILABLE in every state." -Chuck.
I saw that, but it seems not to apply to the road service. Click on "Products" and you'll see a lot of stuff that this company provides. Insurance, especially, is regulated in wildly different ways in different states. I expect Frank (or someone like him) will get back to us with more specifics next week.
