Ah something was rubbing, the rock against the rotor!!! LOL Point well taken, if it sounds like something is rubbing, something is and you need to look till you find it.
I had the "rock against rotor" noise myself at one time. Sounds like the entire front suspension is chewing itself up....
Another Question So now that I don't have very much faith in this previous owner... I am thinking about changing the oil, even though it was just changed--so that I know the TWS 10w-60 is in there. Is this a good DIY guide? http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=34365 I changed the oil on my old car (2000 Nissan Maxima--my first car) but this is a different beast...so I want to do it right.
