The application for the BMWNA purchase rebate states that "... the purchaser must be in possession of the vehicle at time of application...." Does that mean that I have to wait until the car arrives in the US before sending in the application? Or am I deemed to be in possession of the vehicle once I take delivery in Munich? There is a time limit of 60 days for applying for the rebate. Suppose the car takes more than 60 days to reach the US?
Yes. Send a copy of your Acceptance Receipt as proof of ownership. Oddly enough, I'm wrapping up my paperwork this very moment.
Got my check! I submitted my paperwork on my September 29th Munich Delivery 2011 M3... I got my 500.00 check from BMW NA and I couldn't be happier! Thanks to BMW NA and to the BMW Car Club of America for their partnership in this great member benefit. NEVER LET YOUR MEMBERSHIP LAPSE!
Satch: That's an easy one. By managing, editing, and publishing the BMW CCA's finest newsletter for the Delaware Valley Chapter, of course! I was so overpaid that they asked me to retire early... Just because someone will lend you the money to get one doesn't mean you own it. The financing was highly attractive when I ordered and I think it is even better now for anyone brave enough to take advantage. Yes, I owe you a Euro Delivery article, and I'm hopefully getting the car stateside in the next 3-4 days. The US redelivery is the punchline that will thrust me into a fit of writing. Tom Petty has it right: "The Waiting - is the hardest part"
Are you in the batch that was on the Elektra that hit Port NEAT 2 weeks ago? These other guys on M3 Post and I started our own OCD support group. I knew full well it is quoted @ 6-8 weeks, but I'm still like a kid @ Christmas!
No, I'm on Don Juan which made port just this morning. Friday will mark four weeks since drop-off and with luck I'll have it next week--yet somehow that doesn't feel fast! Christmases were easier....
You realize what this means don't you? We won't be seeing NotTheStig for while -- he'll be out running around in his new toy. Add me to the list of envious haters, you rotten scum ... just kidding
Says the guy with an M Roadster. No worries...I only do this about once a decade and can accept some good-natured hating as part of the deal.
Aww, you tipped him off--I wanted to see whether the Eagle Editorial Eye would catch it. (Besides, it was the perfect retort, so thanks!)
