I just made the plunge here to CCA after buying my 2nd bmw. My love is my 98 Z3. 2.8L that I purchased last June. I just picked up a daily driver to keep the miles off the Z, it's a 95 318ti. So, Hello. I look forward to reading, learning, and helping when I can.

welcome, I like the Z3, not too big on the chrome headlights but if you like them that's all that matters ;)

I saw the ti pics in your photobucket, looks pretty decent for a DD, you should check out 318ti.org

    Yea for Z3s!

We love ours. It is Hellrot 1998 2.8. We just bought it in Sept 2009 and got it home in December ... after many repairs to get it up to snuff.

It is resting until the snow and ice is gone. We love it! Just wish we could get some warm days without snow and/or ice so we could take it out for a longer trip. Spring will be here before you know it!

I'm not too big on the chrome either. The front bumper is in dire need of a makeover, so I figure when I get that painted, i'll take the covers off and paint to match what I can. They are the projecters and halos though, so I dont think i'll get rid of them, at this point anyhow. Now if i could find a good price on some better quality ones it would be worth some concideration simply because I do not know where these came from. When I first got the car, the guy seemed to put every bit of chrome he could find at autozone on the car, so it took me a week or 2 to strip it all off and find replacements. Even down to the winsheild washer sprayers, ghey ricer wipers, antenna, etc. At first I thought all was done really really cheaply, but when I was fitting wheels, I noticed he had blisteen struts on there, so I was quazzi impressed. Those headlights, and the full chrome grill are the only remaining pieces of chrome left as of now.

As with the ti, it's been a good DD so far. I just picked it up in December. The front M-bumper is currently in transit from DDM tuning. I just received a nice lil box of RD sport springs for it. I need to revive the paint and pull a dent and maybe get the rear diffuser since i'll have the front M-bumper, and it'll do fine. While all that is in the works, I need to work on it's MPG. the oil filters are in the mail, Mobil one 5W-30 int he garage waiting. Oh, and a new set of spark plugs are in the mail as well. Air filter was replaced before driving it back from N Carolina. If the spark plugs dont give me a noticable difference then I'm going to order a new fuel filter. Well hell.. I should go ahead and order it anyways. I drive about 80 miles round-trip to work every day, about 1/2 city and 1/2 highway and am averaging a miserable 25-27 MPG! It's ****ing me off.

Hellrot Z3? nice! I don't see too many of those... hardly at all. Post some pics! I've had a blast in mine. I bought it about 1/2 way through the summer, and did the manditory few weeks of check-ups and repairs to get it suitable. It came from Montana where there were no emissions, so i immeadiately had to install a catyletic converter. Ive done a lot to it since. My next project are the seat covers. I am trying to find some new and different seatbelt guides so I can avoid that stock pesky problem with those. I think if I can find a pair from a new 370Z or GTR (both nissan) I can make them work.. and work well. It will be a piece of art, and will be the envy of every Z3 owner. I also plan on modifying the dash to fit a z4/x3 central information display, equiped with a garmin GPS. If only I had time/money to knock it out at once!

Daily driver =) My Z just broke the 100K mark, and while I thought that was pretty low, Ive been seeing way too many with 30-50K miles for me to think that much longer. Plus, it's snowing in Texas right now, who would want to chance driving a Z with all these drivers out of their element here?

This is my first car that I've loved it so much that I actually don't want to drive it.. still sounds weird to me.

And thanks, Satch! I look forward to contributing to the community!
