Hey all... My '02 E39 has black leather seats, and the drivers' side seems to be taking a bit of a beating . Any suggestions/suggested products out there that can, at the very least, mask the scratches or scuffs...or do away with them totally? I'm open to suggestions. Thanks for the help in advance...
Black shoe polish. No, I'm serious...rub it in very well... Old fashioned saddle soap is good as well for conditioning. Otherwise, Griots Garage and Meguires make some good cleaners and conditioners.
Thanks...I'll look into the Meguires/Griots brands... Won't black shoe polish wear off eventually? I think what I'm really looking for is some kind of "dye" or like that, which will mask the issues more permanently. "OOH OOOH Dreaaammmm weaver..."
I have heard about these guys below from several club members. Shoot them an email. http://www.spinneybeck.com/
I'm pretty sure you don't want to use shoe polish. You don't want that coming off on your clothes and it WILL come off asn transfer to your clothes. I haven't done this but certainly more color fast than polish would be to use a shoe sole/edge dye. I'd apply this to the scuffed areas only. After it dries then buff it with a padded random orbital then work in a leather treatment like "Hide Food" to return the supple characteristics of the leather. http://www.shoetreemarketplace.com/KIWI_Heel_Sole_Edge_Color_Renew_p/120011.htm
I have had great success with Leatherique products for restoring Leather seats. Their dyes have worked really well, so have their leather cleaners and conditioners.
Doc Bailey's Leather Black does a superb job. One source: https://www.leatherclear.com/cgi-bin/store/commerce.cgi?template=2&page=dochome.htm
"Leather Master leather filler, Leather World Dye Colorant, and Leather World Finishing Conditioner, all available at http://www.leatherworldtech.com/Prod...productid=DLRK" taken from another forum, check this out, you can see what a big difference it made: http://www.318ti.org/forum/showthread.php?t=25904
