Would it be possible to schedule a slow loop around the track for family and or friends of the HPDE participants at the end of the day? It would be a nice addition for them when you are telling them about your day.... Just driving outside the track to show them does not really give the whole picture.

It certainly doesn't, since Road America is one of the few tracks in the US where there is actually no spectator area for some parts of it ('Thunder Valley' around 11B). I believe there is some consideration being given to allowing a speed-limited 'touring session' during lunch on one or more days. That would be one of our later and more minor schedule tweaks, so just keep checking the schedule for it.

Many driving school events have parade laps during the day.
At Ofest we typically have charity rides or hot laps during the lunch break with BMW drivers, depending on BMW NA's scheduling.

The track schedule is always tight to make the best use of track time available.
We expect to have parade laps on Saturday during the BimmerMeet, so stick around.

    Track touring

We plan to have track touring available only on Saturday. The schedule for the weekdays is tight and BMW NA will be doing some lapping at noon on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. The track touring on Saturday will be available to those registered for OktoberFest.
