   What brand of coolant do you use on a 2003 540i and what mixture? The manual doesn't address this.

   Just use BMW's coolant. Others will say Mercedes-Benz, Saab, or Zerex G-05 is the same stuff.
   Usually 50/50 mix with distilled or demineralized water satisfies most of us, but here's a chart from Peak with info:

   Ja, I would stick with BMW OEM coolant and a gallon of distilled water, mixed 50 / 50.
