I'm thinking about replacing my stock wheels with 15-inch Alpinas. Anyone know if 7x15s will fit on the front without any significant modifications?
I've seen a 2002 with Euroweaves on (15x7 et24), but I do not know if it had any modifications. Looked fine though, so I don't think it had any modficiations.
I don't think it's the front you'll have trouble with. I had some 14" wheels on my old 2002 and they very nearly didn't fit past the front of the rear wheel arch, where the suspension crossmember is anchored.
I've got the 15" 325ix basketweave's on mine and they do require a good amount of spacer to clear suspension and such.
Makes sense, but isn't that a 7JX15 ET:41? Matthew, The only 15's I've seen that can be used with absolutely no modification on a 2002 are the 15x6 ET:29 Alpina replicas from Rota. What is the offset of the 7x15's you're thinking about?
I run a 15x6 Panasport and a 195/50-15 tire on mine with no modifications or spacers and I have no rubbing at all (on the strut or the fender). A 15x7 would be a tight fit though!
Sorry Dan. I didn't mean to imply there weren't other 15" choices that would work, only that for Alpina-style wheels, the Rota was the only one I know of that is available in the correct size and offset, which we both agree is 15x6".
