Engine Oil Dipstick Handle

    I have an E34 525i w/automatic transmission. It looks like the engine oil dipstick has a round, red handle; is that correct or is that the ATF dipstick? I know some models have an ATF dipstick and others do not.

    That is your engine dipstick! :D You should be able to trace the tube down into the block. On models that also have a trans dipstick it is usually yellow and closer to the firewall than the engine oil dipstick. The trans dipstick tube should route back towards the rear of the car.
