Gorge Tour to The Dalles, OR

The starting point will be the Cherry Park Safeway in Troutdale. In addition to the grocery, there is a gas station to top off if needed, Shot in the Dark Espresso if you need to caffeinate or grab a quick bite, and also a McDonald’s. NOTE: we will meet in the parking lot closer to the Espresso stand than Safeway. Location: Cherry Park Safeway 2501 SW Cherry Park Rd Troutdale, OR, 97060 http://local.safeway.com/or/troutdale-1542.html Time: 8:00 AM Look for the tour leader's car, a Cinnabar/Lotus 1987 BMW M6. Drivers meeting at 8:00 AM and on our way no later than 8:30. We will have a nice curvy jaunt on east county back roads that pass by Dabney Park, Oxbow Park, Dodge Park and Bull Run Reservoir. We will loop partway up Larch Mountain before joining the Coumbia River Hwy on our way to Cascade Locks for a leg stretch or restroom stop. After Cascade Locks, we continue on I-84 to Mosier, and the back road that is NOT the old Hwy 30. There are beautiful sweepers and drop dead gorgeous views of The Dalles. We will stop for lunch at the River Tap Brewery in The Dalles. Plenty of refueling options in town before taking Hwy 30 back to Mosier, where our tour ends.
