Wine Tour

May 02, 2015
Chapter:
First we’ll ascend the Chehalem Mountain for a fun jaunt along its twisting, undulating roads. Breathtaking long distance views will greet us from Bald Peak. We’ll have our first tasting at one of the renowned wineries on the flanks of Chehalem Mountain with views of rolling hillside estate vineyards and old growth forests. Pinot Noir is king in Oregon, and we’ll be treated to some of the finest. • Next we’ll descend into the valley and enjoy a run through picturesque farmlands and quaint homestead areas. Carlton is our next stop, a former farming and logging town enjoying a renaissance. We’ll sample sparkling wines and have time to stroll the old main street lined with specialty shops and eateries. Mothers’ Day is next Sunday, and gift shopping opportunities abound. • We’ll head out through the surrounding farmland to McMinnville, consistently voted one of the best small towns in America. Bustling 3rd street will host us for our final tasting, a luscious flight of big bold reds. There are more opportunities to shop for Mom along this picture-perfect historic street. A unique and sumptuous dining experience awaits us at several fine restaurants which will honor our group with special arrangements. • Other wine types, non-alcoholic beverage options, and hors d’oeuvres will be offered at each stop. Each of our host wineries will offer special day-of-event discounts and door prizes. It will be an afternoon of engaging driving, fabulous tastes, and unique shopping!
